Kevin Hill, Principal at Heights Consulting, is a senior Business Intelligence professional practiced in all aspects of Business / Market Intelligence, from team-building and strategic planning to project management and operational deployments.  He is known as a critical thinker and creative problem-solver, is adept at extracting valuable insight from complex datasets, and has extensive expertise in business strategy.

Bio & Experience

Prior to founding Heights Consulting, Kevin served as Senior Director of Business Intelligence at the software division of ABB, a global manufacturing company.  His team was responsible for bringing strategic leadership to Sales, Marketing and Product Management with data-driven analytical insights.

 

Before that, Kevin pioneered the Market Intelligence practice at Autodesk, a leading design software company.  He grew the team from 4 people to 30 and managed highly complex projects for senior leadership.

 

Kevin earned an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.  He spent five years at the begining of his career as a sell-side equity research analyst for RBC and Canaccord Genuity, covering the dynamic software industry.  Originally from Cleveland, OH, he earned a BA in Finance from Ohio University.  Kevin lives in the Bay Area with his wife and daughter and enjoys international adventure, cooking, tennis, and spending time outdoors.

Kevin is also a professor at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, serving evening/weekend, full-time and executive education students.  In Presentation Design for Analytical Communication, students learn best practices for communicating quantitative business information clearly and efficiently.  In Data-driven Decision-making, international executive education clients learn the strategic value, sources, techniques, and organizational implications of making and leading data-driven decisions.
